Within the framework of the European project SHIELD, yesterday the technical seminar "Opportunities of the Offshore sector for the Valencia region" was organized, in which CEEI Valencia participated as a project partner of Maestrale together with I-Box Create, Valencia Port Foundation, Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Naval and Maritime Technology Center.

The objective of the day was to disseminate the current situation in the Valencian Community of the OFFSHORE sector, and especially of the Marine Renewable Energies and the Prevention of Risks. Throughout the morning, speakers related to Research and Development in this field, as well as Directors of Training and Innovation, participated.

Juan Pablo Torregrosa, Head of European Projects of CEEI Valencia and coordinator of the Maestrale project in Valencia, had the opportunity to participate with the presentation "Strategy to develop Marine Renewable Energies: MAESTRALE project" and talk about the objectives achieved by the project, which began at the end of 2016 and its next goals in the support and implementation of marine technologies in the Mediterranean.

The meeting was attended by companies, professionals from the PRL, Mutuals, training entities, StartUps from the renewable energy sector, research centers and different associations.

MAESTRALE

The MAESTRALE Project aims to lay the foundations of a strategy for the deployment of maritime energy in the Mediterranean area. It seeks to broaden the exchange of knowledge among scientists, legislators, businessmen and citizens and encourage effective measures and investments for blue growth.

The general objective of MAESTRALE is to promote the development of Blue Energy in the Mediterranean area as a key sector of sustainable growth by promoting the creation and creation of transnational networks of innovation clusters.

SHIELD Project

Specifically, the SHIELD project aims to develop a Curriculum according to the ECVET European qualification over 2 years. to train workers in Offshore Risk Prevention. It is participated by 5 European companies, which will attend the event exposing the situation of their country on this subject.
